Feyenoord set €40m price tag on Dávid Hancko after receiving ‘insulting’ offer from Atlético Madrid

Feyenoord are not looking to sell Dávid Hancko this summer as several sides have been monitoring the Slovakian centre-back. According to De Telegraaf, the Dutch giants have slapped a €40m price tag on the player after rejecting two bids from Atlético Madrid.

In the last month Atléti have been in regular contact with Feyenoord over the possibility of signing their star defender. The Spanish giants made an offer worth around €20m for the 26-year-old which Feyenoord saw as a ‘straight insult.’ They’ve now doubled their asking price for Hancko.

Feyenoord director Dennis te Kloese recognises that clubs are paying high prices for defenders this summer after Lenny Yoro (18) joined Manchester United from Lille for around €60m and Bayern Munich are said to have set a €50m price tag on Matthijs de Ligt. With that in mind, Feyenoord believe that Dávid Hancko is worth a similar price. The former Fiorentina defender still has four years remaining on his current contract a De Kuip and a move away seems unlikely for the time being.
