Queen Máxima of the Netherlands is gearing up for a visit to the Philippines next week, with a mission to bolster financial inclusion.
Scheduled from May 21-23, the Dutch royalty will travel in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA).
Queen Máxima’s visit will focus on expanding access to technology and the internet, creating secure digital identification systems and promoting the use of digital payments.
“By sharing insights and forging connections between global financial initiatives and local realities, the UNSGSA visit aims to inspire continued progress and innovation in the Philippines’ financial sector,” her office said.
The royal agenda includes meetings with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Dr. Eli Remolona Jr., as well as other prominent policymakers and leaders. (PNA)
